Five models, five different answers to the same question, which is the best Android smartphone to buy. According to Altroconsumo’s laboratory tests, there is no single answer, given the very disparate needs brought by each customer: the test was created precisely for this reason, to try to outline the best options based on what is needed. The selection proposed by Altroconsumo covers the entire range of needs, from maximum performance to the best quality-price ratio, without forgetting other aspects such as advanced photography, compact format and savings. All five devices are in the excellent quality range, with scores between 81 and 84 out of 100.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (84/100)
The most complete model in the selection. 6.9-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, battery life of more than 51 hours and full charge in approximately 55 minutes. Among the distinctive features is the privacy display, which reduces the lateral viewing angle.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (84/100)
If you want a model that has the same score at a lower entry cost, this is the right model: 6.9-inch OLED display, 200 MP main sensor, two telephoto lenses and excellent management of Wi-Fi connections. Altroconsumo reports a greater sensitivity of the display to scratches and a less reliable facial recognition compared to the fingerprint.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra (82/100)
If you have camera quality as a priority you are in the right place: 1 inch main sensor, 200 MP telephoto lens with mechanical zoom and collaboration with Leica for color management. Display with 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The optional photography grip increases the shooting possibilities but also the size, and requires a separate charge.
The Xiaomi 17 (82/100)
Model capable of guaranteeing very similar performance in a more manageable body: 6.3-inch OLED display, battery life close to 52 hours, same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The camera is very good, with the sole reservation of processing that can make shadows and tones less natural in certain shots.
OnePlus 15 (81/100)
The selection closes with the most convenient of the five (€750 full price): battery of over 7,000 mAh with autonomy of more than 46 hours in tests, 6.8-inch OLED display, three photographic sensors of 50 MP each and support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G. In low light conditions some shots may be slightly underexposed, a limit that hardly justifies the price difference compared to higher models.
