There are those who feel overwhelmed by the news on extreme climate events, those who feel anger at the insufficient responses from governments and those who, thinking about the future, see only darkness. The climate crisis is not just about rising temperatures, polluting emissions or the loss of biodiversity: it is also about how we live, what we feel and the expectations we have for the years to come.
It is from this emotional dimension, often overlooked in the environmental debate, that “Terraferma: orienting yourself in the climate crisis” starts, the new Radio Glox podcast created in collaboration with Gesenu, a company specialized in integrated waste management and environmental hygiene services, and which will be presented today at Ecomondo.
Available from 30 October 2026, the project of the radio station based in Perugia – of which we in the greenMe editorial team also had the pleasure of being guests in the Parola d’Udge format – includes six episodes, hosted by podcaster Sara Zampollo, which accompany listeners to discover the various faces of eco-anxiety and the different psychological reactions that the environmental crisis can cause, comparing experiences, generations and points of view.
6 episodes and 12 guests to understand how we react to the climate crisis (and eco-anxiety)
Eco-anxiety is that worry, sometimes very intense, that arises from the awareness of environmental changes and their possible consequences. It is not a pathology in itself, but an emotional response to a real threat, which can manifest itself through fear, sadness, frustration or a sense of helplessness. Faced with complex phenomena such as global warming, the loss of ecosystems or extreme weather events, it is easy to feel that one’s daily actions are insufficient. Yet, not everyone reacts the same way. Younger generations may experience the climate crisis as a direct threat to their future, while adults may face it through different experiences, responsibilities and perspectives.

How can you live with this worry without letting yourself be paralyzed? And above all, how can we transform fear into a form of participation? These are some of the questions around which Terraferma develops, which tries to offer tools for reflection without minimizing the seriousness of the environmental crisis and without further fueling the sense of alarm. Each episode hosts two voices, for a total of twelve protagonists from different fields: psychology, scientific research, journalism, environmental education and activism.
Guests include Matteo Innocenti, psychotherapist and president of the Italian Association of Climate Change Anxiety (AIACC), and Luca Sardo, former national spokesperson for Fridays for Future Italia, who bring two different perspectives to the discussion: that of psychological health and that of youth mobilization. There will also be space for environmental information, with Emanuele Bompan, journalist and director of Renewable Matter, and for scientific dissemination with Giacomo Moro Mauretto and Federica Gasbarro, biologist and environmental communicator. The relationship between environment, society and education is explored in depth through the contributions of Mario Salomone, teacher of Environmental Education, Laura Marconi, senior GSA trainer for environmental education in schools, Letizia Mencarini, teacher of Demography, and Dario Padovan, teacher of Environmental Sociology. The group is completed by Tommaso Juhasz, Ultima Generazione activist, Duccio Travaglini, co-founder of Greencome, and Luciano Piacenti, former managing director of Gesenu. The objective is to explore not only what we feel when faced with the climate crisis, but also the role that schools, the media, research and collective commitment can have in building more conscious responses.
How to listen to the Terraferma podcast
The podcast is the second project created by the collaboration between Radio Glox and Gesenu, after “Mente Alveare”, published in November 2025 and dedicated to the themes of the circular economy. The six episodes of Terraferma are scheduled for distribution from 30 October 2026 on the main listening platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and YouTube (here is the link), as well as on the Radio Glox website.
As anticipated, the project will also be presented during Ecomondo 2026, the international event dedicated to the green and circular economy, scheduled from 3 to 6 November at the Rimini Expo Centre. Radio Glox will be present at the Gesenu stand.
