The genius invention of sneakers that adapt to growing feet, but will they work among teenagers?

Be careful, there are a few simple rules for a shoe to appeal to teenagers and become cool: it must be super branded and ride the wave of the latest fashion. Will these innovative sneakers that they will be able to use from here to infinity pass the GenZ test?

The Target brand has in fact invented a new line of sneakers with an intelligent design that allows them to “grow” with the wearer, therefore allowing them to extend the time they can be worn before they are too small. They are the ÜNOS by Sz shoes, which is nothing other than the abbreviation of “U Need One Size”.

The split sole allows for ÜNOS by Sz to expand the shoe. Mom and dad, therefore, won’t have to buy any more shoes for a while. The first problem that Target aims to solve, in fact, is that children often grow up long before their shoes have worn out and sometimes they end up having to wear uncomfortable shoes when parents don’t realize they are too small.

How ÜNOS by Sz are made

The ÜNOS by Sz features a sole divided into two sections by a Z-shaped channel, but each side remains connected by flexible fabrics.

The design allows the shoes to expand in width and length, while still providing a secure fit: up to a half size in the children’s version and up to a full size in the older version.

All nice, even considering that there is a good environmental benefit, since it means fewer shoes ending up in landfill. But, like everything else, their success will depend above all on the judgment of the kids.
