The Italy of volleyball on the top of the world: after the victory of the national teams, the men’s and women’s club world championships are also ours

Italian volleyball is experiencing a moment that goes beyond sports reporting and comes closer to pure history. For the first time, a single nation holds all four of the most prestigious world titles simultaneously, both club and national, men’s and women’s. A result that does not arise by chance, but is the fruit of technical continuity, a long-term vision and a sporting culture that today knows no rivals.

Perugia world champion for men’s club

A result obtained thanks to Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia who completed an extraordinary journey by winning the Club World Cup for the third time. After the Scudetto and the Champions League, the clear success against Osaka Bluteon certifies the maturity of a team capable of asserting itself even in difficulties. Once again, the symbolic name of the 3-0 in the final is Simone Giannelli, technical and emotional leader, MVP of the tournament and absolute reference in world volleyball.

Scandicci on the roof of the world: the Women’s Club World Cup speaks Tuscan

A success that adds to the one obtained in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Savino Del Bene Scandicci which won the Club World Cup for the first time in its history, beating Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano in the final with a clear and deserved 3-1. A victory that further strengthens the picture of a memorable season for Italy and the primacy of our movement at an international level given that two teams from our country were competing for the World Cup in a historic derby.

The Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano, although defeated, remains one of the pillars of the movement. World champion in 2019, 2022 and 2024, the Venetian club has written indelible pages in the recent history of women’s volleyball. The lost final does not cancel an extraordinary cycle, but certifies the high competitive level within Italy, capable of producing more top teams. With Scandicci’s success, Italy rises to five world club titles in women’s volleyball: three by Conegliano, one by the historic Teodora Ravenna in 1992 and now that of the Tuscans.

The Azzurre and the Azzurri: a dominant generation

The clubs’ triumph fits into a broader picture. The women’s national team is world champion, as is the men’s national team, capable of winning the world title for the second time in a row. Two different teams, in history and paths, but united by the same identity: mental solidity, widespread quality and ability to raise the level in decisive moments. These are not isolated exploits, but a system that consistently produces results. And let’s not forget the Italian under 21s, also world champions, and the Italian under 21s who won a silver.

Technique, talent and vision: why Italy wins

At the basis of this dominance there is a virtuous supply chain: youth sectors, trained coaches, competitive clubs and a federation that has been able to invest over time. The generational change has not weakened the teams, it has made them stronger. Young protagonists and veterans coexist in a rare balance, while the Super League remains the reference championship at an international level.

Today volleyball speaks Italian: in the schemes, in the arenas, in the finals that count. The others study, chase, try to fill the gap. Italy, on the other hand, celebrates an extraordinary present and looks forward, aware that this greatness is not a point of arrival, but a responsibility to be defended every day.
