The Local Police of Benidorm, thanks to the promptness and sensitivity of its dog unit, recently saved a female Rottweiler (and others) who was about to die due to hypothermia in an illegal breeding farm. The operation brought to light a disturbing and unfortunately increasingly frequent reality: cruelty towards animals who, in this case, were forced to live in terrible conditions, deprived of the necessary care and attention.
When the officers intervened on the farm, the scene that appeared before their eyes was terrifying. The Rottweiler was exhausted, without adequate shelter from the cold and humidity, and with her body now incapable of maintaining a sufficient temperature to survive. The officers of the dog unit, trained not only for patrol work but also for rescuing animals in difficulty, intervened promptly.
The animal observed the agent with a look mixed with fear and resignation, with slow movements and a reassuring tone of voice, the agent gradually gained her trust, letting her get used to his presence. After a few moments, the Rottweiler gave in, allowing the officer to insert the leash around her neck to take her to safety.
This gesture of patience and sensitivity was essential to avoid further stressing the animal and allow it to be transported to a safe place, where it would receive the care it desperately needed.
Unidad Canina Policía Local Benidorm, rescued a Rottwailer’s body from an illegal breeder, at the point of suffering from hypothermia… the human being, capable of the best and the worst.

The courage of those who save lives and the brutality of those who destroy them
This episode reminds us how human beings are capable of the best and the worst. On the one hand, we find unscrupulous individuals, who treat animals as mere objects, to be exploited for profit without the slightest consideration for their lives or well-being. On the other hand, there are people who work with dedication and compassion to save defenseless creatures. It is thanks to their intervention that the Rottweiler, saved from death due to hypothermia, had a second chance to live.
