There is no peace for Shein, the fast fashion giant from whose packages, lately, unwelcome “surprises” emerge a little too often. You probably remember the story of scorpion found by a customer a few weeks ago or, previously, the 3 used children’s socks. Now another unusual finding is bringing Chinese e-commerce back to the forefront.
This time, hidden in denim overalls purchased on Shein, it was found an active locator.
The protagonist of the story is Riya, a TikToker who documented how, while trying on the suit, she heard an annoying noise similar to a “beep beep” coming from the garment.
Determined to discover its origin, she searched and found a small electronic device, similar to an Apple AirTagsewn between the folds of the overalls.
The young woman didn’t take it very well and explained to her followers that she felt violated: “I don’t feel safe anymore”, he declared.

The video, which has gone viral (it has over 12 million views!), has generated a wave of dismay among users who define the event as “disturbing”, on the other hand – as always – there are those who downplay the incident .
What could have happened?
In the comments on the video, they were advanced some more or less plausible hypotheses: one user suggests that the GPS may have accidentally fallen from a key ring of a worker who, working in one of Shein’s factories, lost it while sewing the garment. The comment obviously alludes to the terrible working conditions in the factories of the fast fashion giant (which has already been spoken about several times).
Others instead speculate that the item was a return and that someone inserted the device to trace the address of the factory. Still others believe that the girl herself put it on, just for hype.
But what is the truth? It seems like a spokesperson for Shein declared, after some articles that appeared online reporting the incident:
