At least 91 people were killed, including 24 children, after Benjamin Netanyahu ordered his military to carry out attacks on Gaza last night. Israel’s prime minister had accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreement after allegedly returning the erroneous remains of a hostage.
“An accident“, according to the legendary warmonger Trump, according to whom these raids will not jeopardize the ceasefire, and at the same time orders Hamas to “cbehave wellIt seems like a game between children, and yet here they continue to die.
“If it does not destroy Hamas, the Israeli government has no right to exist”
Not least, the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, published his political attack on Otherwise, he warns, the coalition would lose its political legitimacy.
Once again Hamas kills a soldier during the “ceasefire”, and once again the Prime Minister chooses to end the incident with the concept of a “measured response” and an immediate return to the ceasefire, continuing to introduce “humanitarian” aid, instead of returning to full-scale war and committing to quickly achieving its main objective: the destruction of Hamas.

Ben Gvir’s stance is not an isolated one: other right-wing members in the majority – including Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich – had already threatened to withdraw their support if the government did not carry out more decisive military action and harsh legislative measures against those allegedly responsible for the attacks.
A very fragile truce
In any case, in recent days there have already been episodes of violations of the ceasefire and clashes following what happened during exchanges for the release of hostages, with mutual accusations of responsibility and steps backwards in humanitarian agreements. The Israeli government reacted with raids and intensification of attacks when it believed that Hamas had violated the agreements, thus fueling escalation dynamics that were difficult to resolve.

The truth is uncomfortable but clear: when internal politics feeds on ultimatums and shows of force, the possibility of a lasting truce recedes. Threatening to bring down a government in the name of “total destruction” of an adversary does not build peace, it only consolidates a self-reinforcing circle of violence.
Real peace arises from agreements that are capable of eliminating suffering, not from diktats that promise absolute victory and the cancellation of others. As long as logics of power and revenge prevail, and as long as security management is used as internal political leverage, the return to sustainable coexistence will remain a fragile hope — and civilians and families on both sides will pay the highest price.
