The curtain rises on a work that pays homage to Dmitrij Shostakovich, on the fiftieth anniversary of his death: a powerful and dark drama that tells of overwhelming passions, murders and betrayals: A lady Macbeth from the Mcensk district. The plot? A young bride who, carried away by her passion for her lover, eliminates her husband and father-in-law. But fate will present her with the bill: discovered and abandoned by everyone, the protagonist will find her death in the icy Siberian lands.
