A daily gesture of affection that is now transformed into the fulcrum of a cultural and urban revolution. Under the shadow of the Mole, the institutional campaign “Write to me when you arrive. Don’t drive if you have taken alcohol or drugs” officially begins, an integrated safe mobility project intended to redesign the perception of risk in the hottest months of the year. Financed by the Department for Anti-Drug Policies, the Turin initiative combines the forces of ANCI, UPI and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers within a broader national program which will end in October 2026.

The social code for speaking to Generation Z
To really hook kids, the administration has decided to abandon the old dusty slogans, invading the most popular digital platforms. The heart of communication will pulsate on TikTok and Instagram through the creativity of Francesco Oliva, aka Foliva, a well-known digital artist from Turin capable of translating messages of responsibility into the visual language of young people.
In addition to the creator’s clips, the temporary channel was inaugurated @write.me.when.you.arrivean interactive space full of posts in which you can reflect on typical nightlife situations. The message will then leave the screens to physically occupy the places of nightlife and study, from university classrooms to libraries, up to GTT public transport and subway stations.
Chemistry enters the classroom: real demonstrations and awareness
The architecture of the plan rests on solid scientific and educational foundations. During the school year, local police officers collaborated closely with the Chemistry Department of the University of Turin. The university’s experts entered the fourth and fifth grades of high schools to dismantle the false myths about altering substances, explaining from a biological point of view the chemical mechanisms that distort reflexes.
In these sessions, the students were able to see the control equipment firsthand, attending practical simulations on the functioning of breathalyzers and drug pretests. An approach that aims to replace the fear of sanction with a profound scientific awareness of one’s biological limits.
Zero tolerance on the roads: data from night checks
Education goes hand in hand with the protection of the territory. The Councilor for Safety, Marco Porcedda, has drawn a clear line: the objective is to reach the European goal of halving road victims by 2030. The targeted services of the Local Police, active mainly on weekends, have already produced heavy numbers in the last year of monitoring. As summer arrives, night checkpoints will be further strengthened to ensure that “text me when you arrive” does not remain a broken hope, but a safe return home.
