“Welcome back to school Giusy”: the mural made in memory of Giusy Potenza, brutally murdered in Manfredonia

A powerful and touching message that of the new mural that appeared on a wall of the school frequented by Giusy Potenza, the teenager brutally murdered in Manfredonia, in the province of Foggia, on November 13, 2004. The face of Giusy, disfigured with Sassate, now lives through art, thanks to the work entitled “Welcome back to school Giusy”.

For those who do not remember the events, Giusy was just 14 when he was brutally killed by the second grade cousin, much older than her, worried that he could reveal their clandestine relationship to his wife. However, its version never totally convinced the victim’s family, sure that he could hide accomplices or other uncomfortable truths.

Not to forget Giusy and remind everyone that evil can be won, the lawyer innocence Starace, who has legally followed the victim’s family, conceived and promoted the realization of this extraordinary work, painted by Raffaella Fariello, with the participation of students and young people of local associations.

The lawyer said that the mural, in addition to returning a face to Giusy, is a symbol of resistance and fight against violence.
