Frozen hake fillets recalled: they may contain foreign bodies, brand and batch to be careful of

New food alert reported by Despar supermarkets. The large-scale retail chain has initiated a precautionary recall of a batch of its own brand frozen Atlantic Hake fillets, sold in 800 gram packs, due to the possible presence of foreign bodies inside the packs.

The recall concerns products that had already been distributed and put on sale, which is why consumers are advised to pay maximum attention. The company has ordered immediate withdrawal from shelves, but some packs may have been purchased before the official communication.

Accidental consumption of foreign bodies can pose health risks, such as injuries to the oral cavity or gastrointestinal tract. For this reason Despar recommends not consuming the product and returning it to the point of sale.

Details of the recalled product

Here is all the useful information to definitively identify the product affected by the recall:

The recalled lot was found in Despar supermarkets present mainly in the North-East and Central Italy, in particular in the following regions: Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Marche, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto.

What to do if you bought it

Anyone who has purchased hake fillets must carefully check the data on the label. If the batch number and the shelf life coincide with those indicated in the recall, the product must not be consumed.

You can return it to the Despar store where it was purchased for a refund or replacement.
