Mineral water recalled by supermarkets due to bacterial risk: be careful with this batch

This time it’s mineral water’s turn. A recall notice has been issued for the San Zaccaria natural mineral water, bottled at the Terme di Brennero, in Alto Adige: in a batch there may be a bacteria that should not be found in a bottle of water. The notice is dated October 20, 2026 (published only on the 27th).

The recalled product

The recall concerns San Zaccaria brand natural mineral water, sold in one-litre bottles. The manufacturer and owner of the brand coincide: it is Fonti Terme di Brennero Srl, with a factory in Terme di Brennero 9, in Brennero, in the province of Bolzano.

Not all bottles are involved and the lot we are interested in is only L26239221100, with an expiry date of 27 August 2028. Both data are printed on the blue cap.

Because he was recalled

The warning speaks of microbiological risk due to the potential presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosaa bacterium whose presence cannot be excluded from the batch in question. The conditional has its weight, given that the contamination is indicated as possible, not as proven. Enough, anyway, to get the bottles off the shelves.

What to do if you bought it

The bottles of that lot are not to be drunk. The advice is to take them back to the shop where they were purchased, which will replace or refund them and will be able to clarify any doubts.
