“Cleaner” dog breeds, but do they really shed less fur and drool?

Without prejudice to the fact that the premise of someone who wants to get a dog asking as the first requirement that it be a “clean” breed is almost an oxymoron, here, in fact, there are some cleaner dog breeds than others. In the sense that, perhaps, they lose less hair, drool, dandruff or skin flakes than others.

Even if for us getting a dog means necessarily having to deal with hair and drool, we almost take it for granted, here are some breeds that are perhaps cleaner than others.

Cleaner dog breeds than others

American Hairless Terrier

Quite difficult to find here, theAmerican Hairless Terrier It has the advantage that it does not shed. So you won’t have to constantly brush sofas and clothes. On the other hand, however, he gets sunburnt and suffers a lot from the cold.

Poodle

Nobody ever thinks about the fact that the Poodlewith its curly coat and very little undercoat, is the ideal dog breed for not losing its hair. Plus his coat doesn’t even have a strong dog smell. The only thing is that you will have to take him to the groomer every now and then to ensure that no knots form and that the fur remains in the expected shape. Bedlington Terriers

bedlington terrier

Another breed that is difficult to see here, but just like the Poodle, also the curly coat of the Bedlington Terriers it lends itself well to practically non-existent wetsuits. He doesn’t shed hair on the sofa, he doesn’t drool a lot, he doesn’t shed a lot of dandruff, but you will still have to brush him every now and then and take him to an expert groomer of the breed for regular maintenance.

chow chow

Japanese Chin

This breed is also not common here. But who has a Japanese Chin claims that it is a breed fanatical about cleanliness, it grooms itself as much as a cat. He sheds little hair, his coat doesn’t stink, you just have to remember to brush him and give him a few grooming sessions every now and then.

Pharaoh Hound

Let’s assume that seeing a Pharaoh Hound It’s very rare here. In any case, this very energetic dog breed that needs a lot of walks also has the undoubted advantage of shedding little hair and not giving off bad canine odors. It doesn’t smudge much either and requires minimal brushing.

Whippets

whippet greyhound

If you prefer a mini version of the Greyhound, here is the Whippets it’s for you. Short hair, she sheds very little, does not have a strong canine odor and does not drool. Just brush it every now and then and it’s done.

Another breed of hairless dog is the Mexican naked dog. Or rather: it has some short, fine hair on its head and legs, but nothing serious. No hair, no brushing. But you will still have to spend most of your time taking care of his delicate skin, including moisturizers, sunscreen and winter coats. But even this breed is difficult to find here.
