Has October 31st just passed and we’re already talking about Christmas? Of course, you need to prepare in time to welcome the holidays in the best possible way, especially if you want to dedicate yourself to creating handmade crafts and decorations.
Before even starting, it is essential to collect the materials, preferably recycled ones, and carefully put them aside. Then, once you have accumulated the loot, you need to arrange the various pieces and prepare them for use, only then can you finally dedicate yourself to the actual creation. To do all this, therefore, it takes time and it is a good idea to start collecting what could be useful to you straight away. If you don’t use something, you can always make up for it on another holiday.
Toilet paper rolls
They are one of the most used recycled materials in creative crafts, including Christmas ones of course. We recommend setting them aside so you can accumulate a good amount. What can you do about it? Reindeers, Santa Claus decorations, Christmas trees, fake candles and much more.
Cardboard boxes
Another material that absolutely should not be thrown away are used cardboard and cardboard boxes, which are useful for creating all-round decorations. You can also make (fake) gingerbread houses with it.
Glass jars
Whether they are jars of jam, baby food, yogurt or anything else, we recommend that you start putting them aside immediately because they can be used to create beautiful Christmas lanterns. And not only that!
Ice cream sticks
Wooden sticks are another precious material for those involved in creative recycling: it is always advisable to wash them and keep them aside, so that they can be used when necessary. What can you do with it? For example, create Christmas trees to hang from the main tree.
Buttons
It’s not so easy to accumulate a lot of them in a short time, but if you happen to have some on hand, perhaps recovered from an old sweater, don’t worry about getting rid of them. The buttons can be used in a thousand different ways, even to make beautiful Christmas baubles for the tree.
Ribbons and leftover twine
It doesn’t matter whether it’s thin or thicker twine, it can be useful in countless creative projects. The same thing goes for ribbons, which you can also recover from gift packages.
