The Indian southern state of the Kerala has issued a maximum alert along its coastal areas and asked the fishermen not to venture close to the place where one Portacontainer ship that transported dangerous goods is sunk off his coasts in the Arabian Sea.
This is the MSC Elsa 3, the Liberian flag beating, he was sailing among the Indian ports of Vizhinjam and Kochi when he sank about 38 nautical miles off the coast of Kerala, in India. All 24 crew members have been saved, but now it remains a very high environmental risk.
The ship is sunk with 640 containers, of which 13 with an unspecified “dangerous load” and 12 containing calcium carbide. He also had 84.44 tons of diesel and 367.1 tons of baking oil in his tanks.

The office of the Prime Minister of Kerala on Monday urged people to stay away from some of the containers who started to end up on the shore. He also recommended fishermen not to venture too close to the sinked ship.
