Madonna di Campiglio against Overurrism: closed number on ski slopes at Christmas and Carnival

Madonna di Campiglio, a well-known tourist destination of Trentino, faces the winter Overurism with an innovative measure: during the New Year weeks (28 December-January 5) and Carnival (15-22 February), a closed number of 14-15 thousand skiers per day will be introduced. The goal is clear: to improve the quality of the experience, reduce the concentration of people on the slopes and guarantee greater safety.

The skiers will have to book the daily ski pass in advance, also benefiting from a reduction on the price. In this way, assessments will be avoided and arrivals will be distributed, with the possibility of accessing the slopes also at dawn thanks to the wake formula first.

How access to the slopes will work

There is no increase in the price of the ski pass to respect this threshold, on the contrary. Early booking involves a reduction on the price of the ski pass, thus encouraging the programming of the day on the slopes.

To better distribute the flows and reduce crowding in the top hours, an early opening of the slopes is also expected, around dawn, so as to allow skiers to start the day in peace. The daily access limit does not apply to seasonal, multi-vary skipass owners or pay-per-use cards, while Skiarea daily ski pass require early reservation.

The goal of the measurement

The measurement of the closed number in Madonna di Campiglio wants to guarantee greater safety, comfort and quality for skiers, avoiding crowds and long -awaited ski lifts. Book in advance and exploit early openings therefore represents the best strategy to enjoy the slopes without stress. In this way, the locality tries to reconcile the influx of visitors with the sustainable use of the mountain, keeping the ski experience pleasant and accessible for everyone.

Madonna di Campiglio joins the many initiatives against mass tourism

The Madonna di Campiglio area, with 60 ski lifts and 155 kilometers of slopes, has been one of the most appreciated destinations in Italy for decades. In addition to the skiers, the number of visitors attracted by the Près-Ski, i.e. aperitifs and parties on the slopes is growing.

In recent years, other Italian locations have introduced similar measures: from the closed number for cars to the three peaks of Lavaredo to the paid ticket to enter the historic center of Venice, designed to limit the excess of tourism. All initiatives that fall within the responsible management of tourist flows and in contrast to the loveorourism.
