Osteria d’Italia 2027, all the Slow Food Snails region by region

For a village restaurant there is no more coveted medal. La Chiocciola remains the recognition that counts in the world of taverns, and with the release of Osteria d’Italia 2027 Slow Food has made public the complete list of award-winning establishments. The Slow Food Editore guide, now in its thirty-seventh edition, assigns it to establishments that particularly stand out for their environment, cuisine and hospitality in harmony with the values of the association.

The numbers of the 2027 edition

The volume was presented on Monday 19 October at the OGR in Turin and arrived in bookstores two days later. The addresses reviewed are 1,952, the Chiocciole 335. The count also includes 175 Locali Quotidiani (pasta factories, delicatessens, wine shops with kitchens) which this year, for the first time, find a place in the regional sections rather than in a separate chapter at the back of the book.

Piedmont follows with 31, while Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Puglia stop at 26. However, if we look at the total number of places reported, the order is reversed: Piedmont has 169, Tuscany 158, Campania 155. At the other end of the ranking is Molise, with only one snail, that of the Grotta da Concetta in Campobasso.
