Photovoltaic, here is the solar planter that produces energy thanks to double-sided panels

Growing flowers and producing clean energy is possible thanks to the photovoltaic planter.

Innovation in the field of photovoltaics is making great strides, with many applications currently in use. Bifacial modules, in particular, represent a solution to the intrinsic limit of traditional solar panels, which could capture sunlight only on one side, thus losing part of the energy available during the day. For example, bifacial modules were recently installed on the roof of the Ullevaal stadium in Oslo, reclaiming a large otherwise unused area and becoming, at least for the moment, the largest bifacial installation in the world.

The versatility of this technology allows for large-scale applications, as in Norway, but also in everyday contexts, such as this planter which allows you to grow flowers and produce clean energy at the same time.

Is called Delta Flore and will be launched on the market by the end of the year by the company Sunwind Energy, a French specialist in off-grid systems, particularly in difficult environments such as high mountain ski resorts.

The planter is still in development, but thanks to the material-optimized double-sided modules Translucent Tedlar – a film with high chemical and atmospheric agent resistance properties – manages to combine energy efficiency and protection of plants from bad weather and high temperatures.

Delta Flore is made up of a light and sturdy aluminum structure, approximately 3.5 meters long, almost one meter wide and just over 1.30 meters high. The built-in planter also acts as a counterweight for the chassis and the two 340Wp panels, each composed of 84 cells with an efficiency of 17.4% and a transparency of 26.5%. The planter can be oriented south or south-east/south-west, is easy to assemble, quickly connects to the microconverter, is fully recyclable and is guaranteed for 25 years.

Furthermore, the manufacturing company offers the possibility of adding accessories, such as rain sensors for irrigation and low consumption LED lights. The first Delta Flore units will be available later this year.
