Recalled anchovy fillets in Conad olive oil, they contain histamine beyond the limits

Conad has recalled a batch of Sapori & Dintorni anchovy fillets due to the presence of histamine above legal limits

A new food alert concerns a product sold under its own brand by a well-known supermarket chain. Let’s talk about anchovy fillets in olive oil by Sapori & Dintorni Conada batch of which was found to contain histamine beyond legal limits.

The product to pay attention to, sold in 156 gram glass jars (drained weight 84 grams), is the following:

The anchovy fillets recalled were produced by Iconsitt Srl, in the Aspra factory, in Bagheria (province of Palermo), and distributed through Conad Società Cooperativa. The production plant has the IT 455 CE identification mark.

Let’s remember that Histamine is a substance that can cause serious allergic reactions and symptoms such as headache, nausea and gastrointestinal disorders, especially in more sensitive consumers. The concentration of histamine in fish products can increase if the fish is not stored correctly and, unfortunately, the level found in this batch exceeded the limits established by law.

For safety reasons, Conad invites consumers who have the batch of product at home to be careful not to consume it but return it to the point of sale. The reminder reads:

Following checks, the presence of Histamine above the legal values was found. We invite customers who are in possession of the product belonging to the same batch to return it to the Conad point of sale where it was purchased, which will replace it with another product or refund it.
