Licia Colò publicly denounced her indignation towards the “La Vita in Diretta” report in which a restaurant that offers crocodile and kangaroo meat was advertised
Licia Colòa historic television presenter committed to the defense of animals and the environment, posted a video that quickly went viral in which she expressed her disappointment for a report broadcast during the October 22nd episode of Life Liveprogram hosted by Alberto Matano.
The service in question concerned a restaurant in Livorno that offers to its customers meat from exotic animals, such as crocodile and kangaroo. An inhuman practice that makes you shudder and which attracted the attention of Colò, who did not hesitate to share her thoughts on social media.
In the video posted on her channels, Licia Colò appears in front of the TV tuned right on Life Live. Even without directly mentioning the program, his comment is a clear reference to the service just broadcast:
I saw a report where they talk about a restaurant in Livorno that offers customers crocodile, kangaroo and other particular species meat. I ask myself: but in our time Is it possible that someone would invent something like this? Respect for animals is being promoted more and more and now someone wants to advertise because they propose to eat such strange species? I remain speechless.
How can we give space and publicity to all this?
Licia Colò, spokesperson for years of a message of respect and protection for the animal world, reiterated her concern about role of the media in giving space to certain initiatives. In his message he criticized the choice to publicly promote this type of culinary experience, underlining that certain contents can send the wrong message.
I also think that the media should not give space to these initiatives, because the person who wants to boast about eating anything will perhaps go there, free advertising and above all the message that anything is possible.
The reactions to his speech were immediate, with many of his followers expressing support. Many shared his concern about the message that could be conveyed by the promotion of such exotic dishes, calling it “bad” or “sad”.
Words that we can only share, remaining stunned faced with such free advertisements broadcast on public TV such as Rai. Not only is no space given to issues such as veganism or the cruelty of intensive farming, but space is given to those who cook meat from animals that they should be protected rather than ending up in the pot.
