The largest spas in Italy will be in Milan (find out where and when they open)

Milan is preparing to welcome the largest urban thermal park in Italy. On April 1, 2025, the former Scuderie De Montel, located in the San Siro district, will reopen the doors in a completely renewed guise: from a historic place for the breeding of thoroughbreds to relaxation oasis, with ten thermal pools distributed on an area of 16 thousand square meters.
An ambitious project, which blends history and innovation, with the aim of offering a cutting -edge well -being experience, in full respect of environmental sustainability. The restoration preserved the charm of original architecture, while the new internal structures have been designed to guarantee maximum comfort for visitors.

From the noble stables to the spa

The De Montel stables were built in the 1920s by the architect Vietti Violi on commission of the De Montel family, well -known bankers of the time, to host some of the most prestigious racing horses in Italy. Among these, legendary names such as Ortello and Macherio. After decades of glory, the abandonment and degradation of the 70s had obscured its beauty. Today, thanks to an ambitious recovery project, the ancient stables return to live, transforming themselves into a space dedicated to body and mind care.

An urban oasis dedicated to relaxation

The thermal park extends over a large surface, with 6 thousand square meters of covered structures and another 10 thousand intended for shorts and equipped gardens. Ten thermal pools, distributed on different levels, will offer an absolutely varied bathing experience, with water temperatures that oscillate between 22 and 38 degrees.

In addition to the thermal tanks, the complex will include a Russian banja sauna, several relaxation areas surrounded by greenery, a gourmet bistro and a cafeteria, which will overlook the park directly.
Particular attention has been reserved for sustainability: the entire system will be powered by low CO2 emissions systems and will take advantage of the recovery of rainwater, collected in underground tanks and reused for the irrigation of green spaces and internal services.

The redevelopment project: a model for the future

The rebirth of the former stables was possible thanks to an important investment by the Infrastructure Fund for growth – ESG of Azimut Libera Impresa Sgr, which has allocated over 50 million euros to the project, in collaboration with the Terme & Spa Italia Group.
The decisive turning point came in 2017, when the Municipality of Milan included the stables in the international call “Reinventing Cities”, promoted by the C40 network for sustainable urban regeneration. This made it possible to start the recovery project under the supervision of the archaeological superintendence, guaranteeing a respectful restoration of the history of the building and, at the same time, a transformation that results as functional and modern as possible, in step with the times.

Thermalism meets the metropolis

It is not common to find a thermal park of this size within a metropolis. A nice opportunity for the city of Milan, often associated with frenzy, which thus adds a new piece to its evolution, showing that well -being can live with modernity.

Terme de Montel Milan 2

The entrance to the thermal park will be on via Achille 6, a few steps from the stadium and the San Siro racecourse. A strategic position, easily accessible by public transport and absolutely recommended for anyone who wants a regenerating “escape” without moving away from the city.

An experience for everyone

With a capacity of 700 guests simultaneously, the Terme De Montel promise to become a point of reference for those looking for a moment of leisure and relaxation in the middle of the city, without the obligation to travel kilometers to reach the most renowned Italian spas. Whether for a day of total relaxation, for a break from the routine or for a regenerating treatment, the new Milanese thermal park proposes itself as an inclusive place, open to all those who wish to carve out a corner of peace in the heart of the city.

The appointment is set for April 1, 2025.
