Will the “Easter Comet” be coming, will it be really visible to the naked eye?

Yes, it’s true, one new comet is running towards the sun these days: Swan has shown it (Solar Wind Anisotropies), a tool aboard the SOHO probe ofEuropean Space Agency (ESA) who studies our star.

The comet is actually “new” for us: in fact, the scorzo of 29 March was discovered regardless of Ukraino Vladimir bezugly and by the Australian Michael Mattiazzoexamining the latest images taken by the probe, and was officially designated as C/2025 F2 (SWAN) from the Minor Planet Center April 8.

But it is not really true that it will be so easy to see it, of course: in fact, although the comet is gradually becoming brighter, at the moment there is a need for binoculars or a small telescope to observe it.

To its maximum approach, provided for the next 1st Maythe celestial object will pass about 50 million kilometers from the sun, just inside the average orbit of the Planet Mercury, with an apparent magnitude that could be between 4.5 and 5. Therefore it is almost sure that it will be at least a good binoculars needed.

Furthermore, all this if the comet will survive its Perdie, which with the comets is never sure.

Because it is called the “Easter Comet” (and how to observe it)

The next April 20ththerefore very close to Easter, the comet, according to the predictions, will have apparent magnitude around magnitude 5, and therefore, if the weather is Clemente, we could already admire it through a good binoculars.

We should in particular turn our gaze towards the constellation of Andromeda Around 4.00 Italian time, with an observability range of about two hours since the dawn is expected around 6:20 (on the map the Heaven of April 20 at about 4.30).

Good vision!
